tomorrow we fly

chris and i are in calgary. we are frantically completing all of our last minute packing, and becoming more and more excited about our upcoming adventure.

we leave for the airport at 4:30 tomorrow morning. we will fly to houston, and from there to managua. this will give us just over two weeks to set the scene for the upcoming acupuncture brigade. we will go to spanish school, to bone up on our espanol, and we will visit Parajito Azul, to confirm that our vision of the clinic lines up with their own. we will finally meet the lovely people that i have been communicating with over email for the past few months, and i will have the opportunity to thank them directly for all of their support, encouragement, and collaboration in creating this exciting project.

the rest of the acupuncture brigade will arrive in managua on january 21st, and then the real work will begin. i can't wait!

if you are in edmonton next weekend, please go to our amazing fundraiser:

Andrea House and Friends: A Night of Music and Theatre in Support of Acupuncture Works in Nicaragua. This exciting variety-show-festival-style evening will feature performances by Andrea House, Terry Morrison and John Gorham, the "Aeriobatics" of Danny Gorham and Friends, Paul Bellows, Laura Crawford, A Short Play by Stewart Lemoine, and much more…

Tickets available at Tix on the square, Blackbyrd, Alfie Myer Music, The Acoustic Music Shop, and Avenue Guitars.

it sounds like a great night of theatre, song, and fun. i wish that we could be there too! great thanks to all of the kind and brilliant singers, songwriters, actors and artists that are donating their time and talent to our cause. special thanks to Catalyst Theatre for donating the space, and to Chris Smith for being the key organizing force behind the event. we are so very lucky to have the support that we do going into this project. please know that we appreciate all of the kind words, warm thoughts, and well wishes that we have received along the way.

we will do our best to keep you posted as the project progresses. please feel free to leave feedback or to ask questions. we will write and respond as often as possible. thanks again for everything!
